Addiction has found its way through different means in our present days and time. From children to adult, it has been discovered that different people are addicted to different things at different times.
However, one of the biggest forms of addiction that has infested the church of today is sexual addictions. It has moved from the pew even to the pulpit. The control over sexual appetite has been a very difficult task for both the young and the old. Both new and old converts in the Christian faith are finding it difficult to put themselves in check.
Before going into ways based on God’s word in overcoming this beast that has erode our present church, you need to understand and know why people in the first place become addicted to this strange lustful appetite.

3 MAJOR REASONS FOR SEXUAL PERVERSION IN OUR DAYS AND TIME
- IMMATURE USE OF CIVILIZATION: Civilization has been so abused in recent times. People no longer want to live right all in the name of civilization. People now live without bounds and restrictions. So, no one mind how they live anymore all in the name of civilization and a quest to live freely. Sadly, this has led many into slavery to certain appetite they no longer have the strength to free themselves from.

We must earnestly contend for this faith which was once delivered unto us. That’s one of the major reasons for this content.
- CARELESSNESS: Due to carelessness many has lost the purity they have with God, they carelessly engage in certain relationships and left them undefined. They carelessly visit places they are not meant to be found, they carelessly talk and engage in discussions they should never have been part of. The level of carelessness differs from places to places and persons to persons. Irrespective of the situation, one of the major reasons for sexual perversion is because of carelessness exhibit by different individuals in different frames and fashions. It is expedient that everyone is intentional in the way they live and go about their day to day activities.
Even though believers have been called out of darkness into God’s light, many still wonder why they can’t be free from the yoke that sexual addiction has placed on them. Many are in confusion and are even ashamed to let people such as their pastors to know about the seemingly strong yoke this addiction has placed on them.
Peradventure this describes you or someone you know, do not let your heart be troubled. There is enough power in the name of Jesus to break every yokes and power of sin. Breaking free from this addiction requires first a change in your relationship with God through is son Jesus Christ. That is, you must be saved. You must give your life to Jesus the author and the finisher of your faith. Also, you would need to change your views toward sins and your relationship with people. You must get your thought in line with the word of God in handling your relationship with people and things around you.

- Salvation
Rom 10:10
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
A person who wants to be free from the grip of sin must first be saved through Jesus our Lord. He needs to believe in his heart that Jesus came in the flesh to die for his sins and also confess all these sins in all sincerity to God. Having an accountability partner is very necessary. Although, it is important you also make conscious decision to fighting off sin on your part.
8. Live in the authority of the Spirit of God
2 Corinthians 3:16-18
Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
The spirit of God is a very powerful tool the Lord has given to us to fight against every wiles of darkness. You must learn to live in His authority. You are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus
