Faith is a tangible reality that helps every believer to express heavenly realities on earth. Faith is a very crucial factor in our engagement with God.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” ~ Hebrews 11:1

As a matter of fact, without faith it is impossible to please God. The faithfulness of God can be fully expressed when we act by faith.

Hebrews 11:6 New International Version (NIV)

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

So, every man that wills to do God’s agenda on earth must of a necessity know that he or she can’t do that without faith. Faith are in different levels and the first to begin with is that you must believe in your heart that God exists and that He’s a rewarder of them that seeks Him diligently.

Our God is a God of faith. In beginning before the creation of man when darkness was upon the face of the deep, he said light to be. That is faith. Every part of creation is an act of faith. So that because God was able to dominate darkness, by faith every believer can dominate darkness too.

Genesis 1:3-4

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

Living by faith everyday is the norm of every believer. Believers don’t wait for things to happen to them, they make things happen by having faith in God.

Faith is a deep revelation and trust in God, the one who created the heavens and the earth. When a man fully trusts God and believe in His mighty powers, it is easier for one to have faith.

The Different Levels of Faith

  • No Faith (Faithless)

John: 20:27: Then he said to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

Faithlessness is a state of not believing God and His words. It is a very bad state to be. A man who is faithless may believe in other things but he does not believe the God of the bible.

Thomas in the passage above was one of Jesus’ disciples that believed that Jesus died but did not believed that he resurrected. In his doubt Jesus showed Himself to him and change his state of faithlessness. God is not pleased with the state of being faithless. A man who is faithless is acting against the nature and the will of God. Being faithless stands against everything that God represents. We are beings of faith and we must live by faith every day. It is not impossible neither is it difficult. Just follow through this article.

  • Little Faith (doubter)

Matthew 14:31

And immediately Jesus, having stretched forth the hand, laid hold of him and says to him, “Little faith! For why did you waver?

Rom: 14:23: And he that doubts is damned if he eat, because he eats not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

A man with unbelief limits God with his doubts. His faith easily wavers at the sight of unfavorable conditions. His faith is circumstance dependent. A man that wants to please God must trust God in both favorable conditions and when the conditions areas not favorable.

Peter trusted Jesus when the sea was calm, but when the sea became boisterous, he shifted his gaze away from Jesus. A man with little faith easily shifts his gaze away from the Lord due to situations. They give in to compromises. Sometimes, the situations we find ourselves is humanly difficult. Nonetheless, there is a way a man of faith is meant to live. We are not profitable to God with little faith.

  • Great Faith (Faithful)

Matthew 8:5-13 (New International Version)

The Faith of the Centurion

5When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.

Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”

The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.

This is the story of the centurion with unwavering faith. He believed the Lord power more than the storm the world present to him. And the sweet thing is the Lord is ever faithful to reward every act of faith. Believe the Lord, He is mighty to save.

A man that wants to live by faith everyday must decide to depend on the Holy Spirit daily for help. When Peter was about to drown the first person he turned to was the Christ. We must learn to trust God and His words for our lives daily if we must live by faith every day. We must trust that the Lord never fails irrespective of the situations around our lives. Meanwhile, it is a good thin to trust God, He never fails.

When a believer prays often, the believer’s faith is built up. This is because prayer helps sustain a posture of total dependence on God in that believer’s heart. Therefore, it is good for a man to who intends to live by faith everyday to pray often every day.

Hebrews 10:25

not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near

The church of God is a place where believer’s faith is built up. A believer who wants to build up his faith doesn’t stay in seclusion from other believers. Our company with other believers is one of the greatest gift God gave to the body of faith. Your faith is consistently built up in church, go to church!

  • Fast often

Matthew 6:16

When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

Fasting is intentional separation from food and drink. It is also intentional separation from food or drink. Although, there have been many schools of thought about fasting that a believer can fast television, phone, internet and so on. The fact about fasting other things outside food and drink has not really been established in scriptures. But it is also necessary at times for a believer to discipline himself or herself from those things. Fasting is one of the tools God has given to us to build up our faith. It is so necessary for us to fast daily.

Conclusion

Living by faith every day is not an impossible thing to do, when you know that faith is not meant to be a work but a life. Living by faith is the natural default of every believers. I pray you receive the grace to live by faith in Jesus’ name. Amen.
