The question about purpose is not just a question for the young, it is a question that even old people need to answer at a point in their life. What are you really here on earth for? You can not afford to abuse the life that God has given you just because you choose not to know the purpose to which you were given.

We have not been given the spirit of fear beloved; God made us for a purpose. it is worthwhile to know the reason why the everlasting God made you and sent you here on earth. In Ephesians 2:10, the bible says:
we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.
Before creation, God has an intent and reason for creating man. Everyone conversant with the history of creation would understand that God has everything created well and Good. Before God created man, gen 1:26 showed us that the Elohim was intentional about what He wants. Man was not designed by mistake. Apostle Paul shows us again that we are God’s handiwork. God took his time to mold us into form and shape. His desire was to see His image and likeness formed. That desire of God has not yet changed.
Apostle Paul further reveals that we are created in Christ Jesus to do good works. Why is the work termed good? The work is termed good because it is gotten from the Father (God).
Also, the good works in question here is not about having a charity organization, it is not about just doing what men defines as good. It is called good because it is derived from God, the creator of heaven and the earth.
Matthew 19:16-17
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
How To Discover God’s Plan For Your Life
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Matt 4:19
The only way for a man to discover God’s plan for his life is to follow Jesus. Only God knows His original intention and plans for your life. Following Him in truth would reveal that to you. Outside God, any other ambition and purpose a man finds for himself is not good. The instruction is to follow God and He would make you who He has pre destined you to be.
So, only God has the answer to what your purpose is and you can only search that out by following Him.
